The Holy God (Father, Son, Holy Ghost) is a trinity. Since God created the universe, the universe reflects some of his properties. Just as space (x,y,z), matter (energy, motion, phenomena) and time (future, present, pass) are trinities, so is man.
Man has his inner nature, his person and his personality. These three are distinct, yet there is one man. With out one, the other two cease to exist. So the answer to your question is that all three must be there in "the beginning."

They are both one and the same thing. Our being IS our nature. We are because of who we are.
What comes first in the mind? What do we precieve first? What you are really asking is: When do we become conscious of our nature? When do we become conscious of being conscious?
Interesting! Very interesting.
I perceive that they are so intricately related that they cannot be separated.
