My female parakeet is 3-4 years old. The area surrounding ehr rectum is swelled up like a balloon. There seems to be a brown liquid coming out of her rectum as well. I dont think she is pregnant this time. What could be wrong? Im planning on taking ehr to the vet tomorrow.

There is a good chance she could be egg bound. Bassically, she tried to lay an egg and is having complications passing it.

There are many things that could be done to help her with this egg, but I'll let you know that they aren't easy and there is a good chance she might die from it.

Taking her to the vet ASAP is the wisest decision. A vet will be able to show you the best course of action to help your pet.

Also, just because she isn't around a male will not stop her from laying eggs. They just won't be fertilized so she won't be able to have babies.
