Generally speaking, any damage (body, theft, fire) should be covered by the dealer's representative (the mechanic's supervisor) and/or their insurance carrier. Usually the dealer, in the spirit of good customer relations will repair the car at his own expense. If, however, the car was damaged after being left in the parking lot after you were notified it's ready to be claimed, then chances are you'll have to file on your own insurance. Either way, I'd consult a lawyer as the laws vary from state to state and country to country.

The dealer is responsible for any damage done while the car is in his dealership.and would be required to fix it.

Nothing is covered. They will deny it was damaged by them.
