I think you should learn a bit more about Europe. All national plates are different from other nation's but within one nation there is no discrimination. It is like if in Belgium you had a different plate code if you are Walloon, Flemish or Brussels.
Geographic distinctions are made, however, in big countries like France (department) and Germany (city).

Would'nt think so.Switzerland borders Italy,France,Austria and Germany.Obviously they(swiz)have thier own distinctive plates(as does every country in the world)To alert thier citizens that if they see a mishap by tourists to let the local authorities know. From the adjoining countries thousands of cars pour into Switzerland every day.The number plates of these cars stay exactly the same.Incidentally if a non swiss resident buys a car there, the car has swiss number plates. They're is no discrimination

Absolute rubbish.
I am one such person and you can't deduce either my non-Swissness or where I live from my car number plate.
Addition - the basis for the 'address' story is that some cantons are running a service which people annoyed by bad driving can dial up, and give them the offending driver's reg number, and the service will then forward a complaint. It's operating in 7 of the 22 Cantons.

Hmmm, not sure about that.
It all works out pretty equal given the fact that you can find out anyones home address in Switzerland from their registration plate. The information is freely available to anyone. Great for cutting down on bad driving I imagine. If you get cut up, make a note of the plate and send a personal strongly worded letter of complaint to the driver

Switzerland is somewhat xenophobic. They are nice people individually but they do have a sense of superiority. Maybe they are superior. But I never noticed a difference on license plates. I do not see anything wrong with it, they can make their own laws. You did not say they use it to discriminate, so no big deal.
