I have a scar on my hand that has healed except a small slit. The scar a result of accidently cutting my hand open and had surgery on it a year ago. The small slit concerns me for I think if something tugs too hard on it, it will split open again and this closed wound does go down to the bone. What type of doctor I see to close this up or ask about this?

You will always have a weak area here until scar tissue completely forms over the area. You can use steri strips to reinforce the area until it closes. If you want to see someone about the area, I would suggest a wound care clinic with an ET nurse specialist.

I'm sure a doctor would be good enough. If the doctor doesn't know, he will tell you who to go to.
