ok, so i was flipping channels and happend to stop on My Super Sweet Sixteen because im always interested in what they ask for as a presant...this girl wants a hummer... but not just any hummer, an h2 that they extended to be a six door instead of a four door...it also had about nine zillion other un needed things done to it. my question is why on gods green earth would a sixteen year old need that, or did i miss some vital requirement of turning sixteen? ps, if my kids are ever that shallow, you have permission to come to my house and slap me...

you all have given fantastic answers, im glad im not the only one who thinks this. when i turned sixteen, i got a job...and my allowance stopped when i was twelve...im glad my parents botherd to prepare me for the real world, cause shows like that make me want to punch somebody.

Its incompressible.......I saw a episode two girls with a tab of 1 million......16. Its shows us what level of responsibilities the next generation will have....... me, me, and more me.....
what I'm wondering is when these privileged kid HAVE kids will they be able to put the concerns of their children in front of their WANTS ?
Its scary !!
and the fact that the show is booked for years to come is even more concerning......

And if you really want your wig blown back you should watch a show call "rich girl" or "spoiled brats"...lol something like that......its the 20-30 girls which is the left over affect of the sweet 16..........it reeks of incestuous/ inappropriate father daughter relationships....

am 16.....and it would be weird if i had gotten something like that for my birthday........if my family was that rich we would send money back to my country in Africa instead of using them in such useless things....a $3,000 car would be fine for a 16 yr old

I agree, and I will if you will.
Children are not done any favors by spoiling. It handicaps them and they can't function as adults because they're used to having anything handed to them. Kids don't magically turn into adults on their 18th birthday, they have to be trained to it.
