No. There is no rebate for interest earned on bank fixed deposits. In fact, the interest attracts tax.

If you deposit money in Nationalised Bank in Fixed deposit of 5 years or more, then you will get a rebate under Sec 80C within the overall limit of Rs 1.00 lac. This way you can save tax.

This is only Investment. SO in incometax act told UPTO 1,00,000 investments exempted from your income ok than you calculated the your taxable income after that you think about refund ok
