I recently tried selling about 6 items on ebay. they didn't sell. lol. Now I've tried selling them yet again, but they still have a couple of days to go.
well now on my seller account it says I owe 21.75!
For the previous 'invoice amount' it's 12.10
and For the new one its 9.65

Well I was reading the help topics and it says that if an item doesn't sell then all fee's will be taken away/done with. It's been about a week now and the amount due is sitting there waiting for me to pay.

Soo please help me and tell me as to what to do. I refuse paying $21 for items I didn't even sell.
Oh and yes I understand I need to pay for insertion fees but not no 21 dollas
shiiet.

help :/

You will not be charged a Final Value Fee if:

There were no bids on your item.

There were no bids that met your reserve price in the case of a Reserve Price Auction.

Your posting is a Real Estate non-binding listing.

Your auction was in the Residential, Commercial or Other Real Estate Category.

Your item or service was listed using a Classified Ad Listing. However, if your ad has the Best Offer option, you are charged Final Value Fees.

And by reading that I thought I wouldn't be charged?
I'm selling jewelry.
I also downloaded the turbo lister program so I didn't relist them but just started over.

now what.... :(
just pay the money and never sell again?
or keep trying to sell and instead of making money lose it?

It sounds like you are just beginning to realize that ebay is expensive. The insertion fees vary from as little as $.25 all the way up to $4.80 per item (regardless if it sells). You are also charged for other options that you can get such as making your listing bold, featured, underlined, etc. etc.

It would probably be best if you got off of ebay now, since if you're upset about the $21, you will be in total shock once you start selling things.. Then you will have to deal with Final Value Fees (around 3%), plus Paypal Fees (around 3%), plus Shipping Fees (paid directly to USPS, Fed Ex, UPS, etc.)..

You are correct that you would not have paid any final value fees, however $21 sounds about right for 6 items (listed twice). You didn't say how much you listed them for, however even If the starting bid was in the range $50 - $199.99 then the listing fees are still $2.40. If you have six items, (all in that price range) the fees would come out to $14.40.. If none of them sold and you relisted them another time, you would again pay the listing fees of $2.40 per item (regardless of whether or not ebay knows that they are being re-listed). If your items sells the second time it is listed you will be refunded for the listing fees on the second auction, but that would explain why they are there.. If you cannot sell the items the second time, then you will be stuck for the insertion fees both times, and there is no way to get that money back..

What you should do depends on what type of seller you are. Are you just selling 6 items and after that you don't ever want to sell again? Or do you want to get in the business of selling jewelry for a living? If the latter is the case, maybe you should just open your own web store, with a merchant account.. Then you will have to pay ebay $0, and paypal $0..

Ebay charges a percentage of the final value fee so if the item doesn't sell, there is no final value fee. However, there is always an insertion charge. If you re-list an item and it sells the second time, they will refund your second insertion fee. Since your items didn't sell, it sounds like the charges are all insertion fees. You can view a detail of your account and see exactly where the charges are coming from. If you are sure you are being over charged, you can try to contact ebay and good luck with that!!

When you relisted the items, did you just list them again, or did you specifically go through the process that says they are being relisted because they didn't sell? If the former, ebay has no way of knowing that they are relistings.

Are you sure the handbook said it will waived the fee?

I have been selling on eBay and understanding that there is a risk to pay for listing.

What are you selling online by the way?
