I don't know if this is the proper section to ask this question but I'll ask it here because I expect a better answer. Here's the scenario:

My estranged wife and I met a couple of weeks complete tax forms for the past couple of years. We met in a public place where we both have numerous acquaintances. I'll describe her body language and actions.

After she found me outside smoking and we went through a cursory greeting, she walked quickly ahead of me. I went to the table were I left my brief case. Instead of sitting down with me, she walked around and greeted a few people on the other side of the room. Finally, she came towards the table. She did not sit down with me. Barely made eye contact, and was more animated than usual i.e. pacing quickly about, speaking quicker than usual. When she did look at me she had a slight scowl on her face (scowl or frown).

I don't know if that's enough info. to make a reasonable interpretation. I have my thoughts. Just checking yours.

American Sign Language is just that...a language. It uses handshapes, facial expression and body movement as a part of the language. (not that you are but I am adding that) We have to be careful not to denigrate ASL by applying non-linguistic terms to it: it is not mime, not gesturing, not acting-out. It is a language. Thanks.

She was afraid of herself getting into a conversion and any kind of familiarity with you.
You are thinking yourself she is not over you, otherwise, she would have been confident and okay to sit down with you.

I think you probably do already have your answer......as you indicated in your question. It seems she is definitely setting some boundaries and letting you know where you stand.
