No, you don't have to do that!!
The pap is an internal test, it has nothing to do with how much hair you have on the outside.
Just make sure your, uh, area is clean before you go to the doctor and they won't care.

There is no reason to shave before going to get a pap. The sample is taken from your cervix and there is no hair there. However, if being more trimmed would make you less self-conscious, shave away!

I would say do whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
The doctor has seen it all, so it doesn't really matter how you look.
Some women feel more comfortable if they are clean shaved, some just like a nice trim and others could care less. It's all a personal decision.

No it's natural to have pubic hair. Just make sure you go once a year unless otherwise told by a doctor. Once you have your period you should go for a pap smear yearly.

Honey, they've seen it all. Just be clean. Don't douche though because that can interfere with your pap results. I always shave my legs and trim the hedges but that's because I do that anyway.

No, there is absolutely no reason to shave all your hair and you really don't need to shave at all unless that makes you feel better. All you need to worry about is that you are clean down there. My mother works as an RN in an infertility clinic and looks at that area all day and she says that they really aren't looking at how hairy you are but when you are smelly they remember that!

It's not necessary, as long as you're clean - take a shower before you go. You can trim if you really want to. The hair does not affect the test results.

There's no need. Your doctor has done paps for patients in both cases. I'm sure they have no preference.

Trust me. Your doctor has probably seen so many women that hair doesn't matter. It isn't necessary to shave it for them. It is more for your own comfort.
