I had my appendix out in october 2005. I know what its like! Except I couldn't get in to surgery for 36hours and i wasn't allowed to eat that whole time!!!!

They put the drip in your arm so they can put medicine in there like morphine and the drugs that make you go to sleep for your operation.

I was lucky because I had keyhole surgery. I have 3 small scars probably 1-2cms long. Your scar will take a wee while to heal. My friend got his out at the same time and he was still in pain when I was better. But i'm sorry to say, no it will not fade completly. My Grandma got hers out when she was 17 and she's now in her 70s and she still has a scar.

Don't see it as a bad thing. I like my scars. But if you want your scars to fade, when they are healed up, to a bit of sunbathing. This will help them fade.

Goodluck i hope your feeling better! x

Laser therapy can help to lessen scars or in some cases remove them. Keep it out of the sun and use coco butter lotion as well as rubbing vitamin E on it and that should help, but it will take time!!! You have to be patient. If they did not do what they did you would have died, so a little scar is a small price to pay to live!!!

Debbie D has it right... at least for the version I know... "Oooh Child" was sung by the 5 Stairsteps and I remember it mostly from a film called "Over the Edge" which was Matt Dillon and Vincent Spano's first movie. It has a great soundtrack which also includes Cheap Trick, Van Halen, and even the Ramones.

If the scar is bigger then normal no it wont go away it may fade,
i have one on my chest and eww its ugly to and i hate it but it saved my life"heart surgery"...But you can go to a local pharmacy and they have stuff for scars to make them smaller or even disappear.also they put the needle in you because its an iv like if they needed to give you medicine they don't have to keep poking you.and what about steps i didn't see anything in your story about steps.....But your appendix could of made you weak so that could be the answer....

Good luck hope the scar goes away!!!!!!!!

the scar will fade over time but wont go away completly. the needle was an iv so they could sedate you for surgery. be glad all you have is a scar many have died from having their appendix rupture. you could climb stairs be cause you had surgery in or around your abs. you will be fine and should be pretty much healed up

Scars happen, most of them will fade within a year, though don't be upset if they don't. Seven years ago a ceramic plate broke over my hand and I still have a huge ugly scar.

Be thankful they were able to remove your appendix before anything worse happened...The scar will get much smaller as time goes on , and you will hardly notice it in years ahead...

Rub Retin-A on it (you can get it with a doctor's prescription) It will speed up cell turnover and help you fade the scar.
