I have an IFP-899 MP3 player. Today I was trying to transfer OGG files to it and that operation failed. Ever since then when I try to turn it on it flashes "scan music file" on & off like its trying to start up. It is completely unresponsive and in order to turn it off I need to remove the battery.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Disk error can be a physical problem with the storage device or a software issue. Physical error can't be rectified. If its a software issue then you need to connect the MP3 player to the computer. Then go to my computer, right click on the MP3 players icon and then choose format. This will delete everything on the disc. Now load the songs once again and hopefully the problem should resolve.
