This question isn't boring! :) It's great! We get to share our pencil case experiences!
Best pencil case I ever had was a navy blue fun fur one, that had large white polka dots on it. It held everything I ever needed. Including the most awesome little calculator ever!!!
BUT....
Sadness! In grade 9 (after having it from grade 5 till mid-grade 9), I was in my Advanced Science Class and left to go to bathroom. When I came back, it was gone. No one fessed up to it's disappearance, and it was never returned. :(
I still miss that little guy. We spent a lot of good years together, and no one had a pencil case that even came close to mine. It was a 10/10!!!
2nd best pencil case I had was a square wooden handcrafted one that i received as a gift from my grandmother. It was red, with a folk-art like depiction of a granny knitting with her cat at her foot. You slid the top off lengthwise to remove your pencil from within.

Yeah. I bought one from those little asian Sanrio stores when I was in 2nd grade and it could do all kinds of things! There was a storage compartment for everything! It was Bitchin!

I had a red one w/a little ruler in it. I love the cut of your new hair, not everyone can pull that look off.
