By best, do you means films of substance and quality? I would say Pan's Labarinth and Babel. Babel is a very moving film, however there are some moments that are deply sadening, so if your not in the mood to see something upseting then I don't recomend it. Pan's Labarinth is is a very creative film that takes place in Spain during the Facist period. It is not however a complete fantacy film, nor is is something that young kids should see. It is very violent. I have not seen Letters From Iwo Jima, but I have heard some good things, and some mixed reviews. As for the rest, they seem to be the typical hollywood gargle that is released in the begining of the year after the award season. They are not my cup of tea, but if you want something fun...
try some of your local independent theaters see if The lives of Others is supposed is playing- its supposedto be fabulous...

Well there's Pan's Labyrinth that is up for Best Foreign Film and then there's Norbit which isn't up for anything unless they give an award for the Best Actor in a Fat Suit Award.

Either Epic Movie or Night at the Museum. Both look hilarious. If you are in a horror mood, The Messengers all the way.
