I live in Houston, Texas, and we had some unusually cold nights recently. I was out of town, so I couldn't bring my potted Ficus indoors. It got down to about 25 degrees, and was freezing for about 14 hours. Most of the leaves have started turning brown, but there are still a few green leaves. Is it worth keeping around, or should I just throw it out??

I certainly would not go by the leaves alone, the browning leaves will surely be shed soon, the few green leaves are a good sign though.Given time even if all the leaves are shed as happens with ficus species , it will soon bear new & shiny leaves to gladden your heart, till then bear with it & care for it.

Ficus trees are very temperamental and no you did not kill it
most of them in the winter shed most of their leaves, so it will just grow new ones now that it is warm again.

Well, most likely it's dead. But you could keep it and see if it makes it through the freeze.

Ficus trees are notoriously fickle.
