18k 2tone X41900 oyster perpetual chronometer...Can anyone help me to find out any sort of value on this watch? It was left to me in an estate. I do not trust a jeweler and i am wondering if i should just call New York direct or what? Do not know where to turn or who to trust. There is no sentimental value in this or i would keep. What would be a good price to auction this off at?

Umm please why would i want to go to a pawn shop? I don't want to get robbed! I may as well give it away! The auction is going to be a charity benefit!

Looks like you wouldn't have any problem getting three grand for it.

Have you done a completed listings search on ebay?
Jewelers who deal in fine estate jewelry are unlikely to cheat you as their businesses are established and their continuing livelihood and reputation are more important than cheating you on a single deal. I'd go ahead and research it as best you can through jewelers and ebay then start looking for best offer. Selling on ebay is pretty easy, but if you decide to do it yourself don't start with a rolex, ebay buyers are leery of sellers with little feedback selling a high ticket item. Folks who sell on ebay for you tend to take a percentage, which on that item would be a hefty chunk. Honestly, your best bet unless you are going to start selling a bunch of stuff on ebay is probably a reputable jeweler. Remember that they will be looking to sell it for a profit, so you aren't going to get near retail value on it.

Er, this is not a good item to misplace, I suggest you ransack the house.

If it's real, it will be worth in the thousands ! Hope it's in nice condition though. You can try typing in the model number in google.
