Earlier today my computer speakers were working just fine but later on when i went back on to play music and watch some videos there was no sound. I checked the volume of the speakers and it was fine. Also the speakers are plugged in where there supposed to be. I don't know whats wrong with them. Please help me!

Bad speakers, bad speaker wire, if they are powered it could be a bad power brick. Could be your sound card, or a driver problem. Your volume could be muted. Can you hear other things like the phone ringing....I'm just saying, you may have something blocking your ear canal.

maybe the program has the little speaker bar turned down, or on mute. Does it make a sound when you receive an email for example? if yes, then the program itself is to blame, if not perhaps check the volume is not muted by clickking on the bottom right where it says "volume control" its a little round icon, a box should come up with all the details of the volume display you can see if mute is selected or if it needs turning up.

Turn volume up, unplug speakers, plug back in, when doing this you should hear static, if not you sound board went south for the winter.

If they are connected ok then it might be the sound on your pc. Adjust the volume on your computer using the volume control and make sure that the wave arrow is all the way up. If still then there is always the posibility of them not been connected right. Good luck
