Never! The Prestige is a good example of a movie that is not like every other movie (comes out tomorrow!). There are so many stories in the past that haven't been covered and times keep changing. People get paid millions of dollars to keep coming up with new and creative ways to make movies. There will of course keep being repeats, because people will try to take advantage of what was successful in the past, but there will always be those creative people thinking of new ways to impress us!

As long as there are TV shows to make into movies, the highly creative minds of Hollywood will not run out of ideas. Hold on to your seat - here comes "Three's Company: The Movie"!

no, according to a movie critic friend of mine, Hollywood has only three themes that they write movies from- the story of Jesus, the ultimate romance- Romeo & Juliet style-, and good over evil -
he says that if you examined all the movies that you would be able to put each into one of these categories.
i guess if you reinvent those three themes and "borrow" other such stories from the great masters... you would never run out of stuff to make into movies.
Plus, movies, like books, are a mirror of humanity so there will never be a lack of stories to tell.

They already have. Not only are they just doing remakes, but almost every movie has the same plot as another and the movies that are different have like 3,4,or 5 continuations. It gets boring.

Because your taste is old. I love movies all the way back to the 20's. EVERY decade has numerous of great films. Anybody who b*tches about modern movies really needs to wake up and look around, there are plenty of great modern movies

They won't run out. That's the same as asking whether writers will run out of ideas for books. As long as there are people living, new situations and perspectives will emerge.
