I have always appreciated the ACLU because they support everyone's civil rights under the Constitution. But I am also one of those who believed they were anti-religious. I'm glad to find out I was wrong
It is also obvious some didn't bother to read the article. Afraid of a little education?

Cool link, thanks! I always figured the ACLU wasn't *anti* religious but was merely a-religious... that to honor the constitutional separation of church and state, they didn't allow religion to bias them in either direction, any more than they allow a group's popularity to bias them. It's nice to see some proof.

The ACLU serves a valuable purpose and will occasionally piss everyone off because of the cases they take. They get a bad rap for being anti-religious because many religious organizations push the envelope and violate the constitution without much objection (come on, it's in the name of "good"). This, I believe happens because most religious people are incapable of seeing anything wrong with their religious being promoted to the general public, even when it comes from the government. Luckily, the ACLU is more objective.
Also - Bill Clinton was impeached 12/19/1998. This is a historical fact, your mistake.

Anyone who bothered to check it out would know that the ACLU is an organization that works to ensure that we are granted our Civil rights - in all matters. It is not pro or anti anything. If it weren't for the ACLU and others like them, we could easily be living in a totalitarian, religious condition where woman and minorities had no rights, where Jews, Catholics, Muslims, Buddhists and other non-christian sects would be outlawed.
Our freedom of speech would be diminished as would freedom of the press.
It is a great organization that has been around over 100 years....may they continue to be our watchdog forever.

absolutely!!! Chances are if religion is involved the ACLU will be on the wrong side.
For example, the ACLU has have been fighting the city of San Diego for over a decade on the existence of a large cross that is a war memorial. Jews and Christians are for the cross. A couple of Atheists are against it.

The ACLU is the organization that will stick up for you no matter who you are or what you believe in. It supports the bill of rights. If you do not support the bill of rights then you will not support the ACLU.
