depends...

Alot of that will really depend on who you're renting through and what is on your credit report.
Normally apartment complexes run through management companies will still rent to you with bad credit, depending on what is on your credit. If you have unpaid utilities in collections, or any open civil judgments then odds are you will not be approved. Things like medical and bankruptcies normally aren't used when deciding these things.
Sometimes private renters will be more willing to work with you. All you can really do is try.

And as far as having to pay a higher deposit, if you go through an actual property management company your deposit will not be any different than someone with good credit...the deposit will be the same for anyone renting that same unit regardless.

I have a bad credit myself so I know there are some apartment management company that will take bad credit renter for extra security deposit. I also had experience with private landlords where I explained how I got into my situation and they approve me. If those options still don't work for you, you might want to get somebody with good credit to co sign with you. Good Luck !

Depends on the landlord. They may be okay with bad credit if you pay the security deposit with cash or money order, also being bonded is big now.
If you allow them to take the rent out of your savings if might help.

Yes and no. Many may either require a large deposit, first and last months rent, a co signer, or a short term lease. A friend of mine had to pay some certqain debts off before she moved in. Keep trying, and good luck.

You probably can. It would depend on the landlord/property management company and how strict their requirements are. Most often, the worse your credit the bigger deposit you'll have to pay. If it's extremely bad, then you probably won't get approved at all.

Sure...people with bad credit live somewhere don't they? You may have to look around more and it may be more difficult to find a place, but eventually you'll find a place. It just may not be as easy.
