I was pulling into a space, and a guy standing next to the space was waving me in. I didn't think I could make it in because of the car next to me, but the guy kept waving me to pull forward. I rolled down the window and the guy said I had plenty of room. So I pulled forward and nailed the door of the BMW next to me. After I hit the car I backed up and the guy said "Well, I guess you won't make it after all, ha ha ha." and got into an old beat-up pickup truck near the mall. I pulled into a space on the other side and got out to look at the damage. There was a huge crease in the door with a bunch of paint gone from across the door and fender. When the lady came out she asked me what happened. I told her that the guy in the pickup truck hit it. While she was walking over to him I drove away. Isn't the guy in the truck at fault?

I couldn't afford to have the accident on my record because I'm trying to get into the police academy.

You hit the car...why did you lie? No one forced you to let the guy try to help you park. Take responsibility for your actions!

No doubt about it, you should come clean. Chances are that the police already have your description, a description of your vehicle, tag, etc. You will pay in all likelyhood, it is just a matter of time. Now that you ran, you are also wanted for Hit and run. My advice to you is to get advice from an attourney, not strangers online. Afterall, a stranger already screwed you once. It sounds to me like you are probally a young individual who probally just panicked and made a mistake. If you are a minor, tell yopur parents FIRST and your attourney SECOND. Explain how BAD you feel about the accident, and prey that if you are charged, then the judge will see it as a mistake and be easy on you. If you try to hide, then it shows you have no remorse about what happened. I think you DO have remorse though, or why else would try to get advice about it? Good luck! Let me know how everything turns out at toolman29505@yahoo.com. I'll be preying for you!

NO. You are! You were the one driving. You took advice from a complete stranger and trusted that he had your best interests in mind. Guess what? He didn't. He was a jerk. But that still doesn't mean YOU get off the hook. You damaged somebody else's property. You can do the right thing and own up to it, or you can be a weasel.
Since you drove away, you're guilty of hit and run. There could be a warrant out for your arrest. Turn yourself in.
Good Luck,

Wow I can't believe you lied.
I hate to burst your bubbles but everyone has said the same thing. You're driving, if you didn't think your car will fit in the space then don't try.
However, if the BMW was straddling the line I don't feel bad because the lady should've put her car squarely between the line not on the damn line.
Not to preach to the choir, but I hate those who park right on the line. If you're so worried about getting dings in your car then park as far as possible from the mall entrance.

it relatively is strictly what's erroneous with u.s.. Get an criminal expert, Sue!!! first element, No stable criminal expert is going to take a declare like this as there is not any longer income it. Any settlement you get could be decreased via a third it incredibly is his take. 2nd, you have coverage. you chosen your deductible. your deductible applies every time some thing happens on your motor vehicle regardless of fault. third, the different coverage corporation has to do an study to confirm in the event that they're legally in charge. replaced into the guy whow as driving the motor vehicle the owner or a named driving force on the coverage? if no longer, this basically have been given 10 cases extra durable for you. If he hit extra beneficial than one motor vehicle there could be a limits subject, meaning there is probably no longer adequate insruance to bypass around. you have a accountability to mitigate your damages. this will additionally advise your getting back and forth to artwork. the different coverage copmany won't owe for this as you have taken public transpotration ( costly lord) or have been given a pal to take you or despite and then saved the receipts for reimbursement or you have further apartment reimbursment on your very own coverage and dealt with each and every thing there. My advice is enable your coverage corporation guard it and get you back on the line. they're going to cope with all that needs to be dealt with with the different coverage corporation inclusive of attempting to get well your deductible. if an criminal expert atcually took this challenge, your $6000 damages might finally end up paying your criminal expert $2000, and you $4000 much less your dedutible of $one thousand which leaves you with $3000 to repair damages of $6000!

I know this is not the answer you want to hear but I'm trying to help you with information.
Ethically, you blew it by lying about it.
Legally, you are at fault because you were driving. You were mistaken to trust someone else to wave you in without knowing whether you could really trust them or not.
It is up to you what to do about it. If the lady whose car you struck got your license plate, she could cause you some grief.

NO ... you are at fault ... you were in control of the vehicle. If you didn't think you had enough room, you should have put your car in park and got out and looked for yourself.
You have no one to blame but yourself ...then to make matters worse, you lied about it. You should go find that lady and come clean on what you did wrong.
P.S. When you apply for the Police academy, please use me for a reference.

Of course you lied....all one has to do is look back at your other questions to know that you lie quite often, more than a rug, in fact. But to answer your question, as if it were true, the driver is responsible.
