Yes he is.
He was born on December 25 (Jesus certainly was not born on that day) and we celebrate his birthday by supporting the economy and visiting with family and friends.
It is, also, supposed to be the time of the year that we help those in need. Winter is harsh all over the world and many people are less fortunate than us.
Santa believes very strongly in tradition and has gathered stories from around the world about generosity, love, and understanding. As he grew into the man he is today, Santa was inspired by real people and famous stories from around the world. Most of these histories and stories are about helping the poor and being understanding to other cultures. Because people from different nations often have very different cultures than we have the details about how to be generous vary from country to country, but that is good because everyone is unique and even young people need to learn respect other cultures and traditions.
But do not forget about your own traditions. Santa teaches us the importance in our own heritage and our own traditions. Whether they go back to last year with our friends, or hundreds of year to old winter stories, our traditions need to be learned and nurtured. Santa’ birthday is a time for friends and family to come together, share old stories and make new ones.
Some of the people who inspired Santa are very famous and worth learning from.
Saint Nicholas of Myra
Father Christmas
L. Frank Baum
Clement Clarke Moore
Odin, the All Father (he is the one we named Wednesday after!)
King Wenceslaus
The Hogfather

He's a real as love, and caring, and other wonderful qualities that you know exist even though you can't see them with your eyes.
You're going to get a lot of different answers on this important question, and some of the answers here are just plain mean. Remember, only you can really answer this question, because the answer is really different for everyone.

Baby doll, I wish he was. Then good people could get what they ask him for. But no Honey, he's only a fairy tell. You're old enough to know the truth, I'm sorry. But your're parents ARE real and they love you. They are the one's who give you presents at Christmas. So be sure to tell them thank you for everything you get, not just at Christmas but all through the year.

its like this hes not real but everyone tells the lie of santa cuz they find the deception fun. we set out milk and cookies and our parents eat them around midnight and put your presents under the tree at this time. Santa is nothing more then a myth based off of pagan beliefs and a catholic saint.
