They aren't smart, but they either think they are, or discout knowledge out of hand.
Lack common sense, or they ignore it. They make bad decisions, despite knowing that they are foolish.
They are naïve.
They reject the ideas of others without being able to think on their own.
They are too focused on sex, though the majority are not regularly having it.
They are being confronted with the realities of life, and that makes them angry.
People wrongly stereotype them as psycho.

They are'nt psychos. That's the easy answer. High school students are a special group of young people who have been misrepresented in the media and are misunderstood and feared by too many adults. High school kids are awesome kids. I love them. They are full of energy and ideas and hormones and discovery and emotions and peer pressure and either dis-interested or overly-involved parents. They're learning who they want to be and what they want to become and they're dealing with it the best they can. Some of them are absolutely amazing people. It's amazing what I've learned from them. Society at large has helped create a definition for these young people that they don't deserve. It's too bad that not enough people see that about these kids. They're awesome.

Thanks to all the freaking social workers for the last 3 decades one can't bust a kids butt or back hand them across the mouth everytime they get out of line. No discipline is the only reason teenagers are worthless scumbags.
Teenagers are the most worthless form of human endeavor that walks the planet. Every one of them need to be treated as the scum of the earth that they are.
They are the most disrespectful scumbags on the earth. Pedophiles and rapists are better than any high school kid out in the world today. I lump the worthless scumbags altogether.

As a high school student I was very much offended by this statement. The general image that is given by most people about teenagers is that they are rude, crude, addicted to drugs, perpetually drunk and stupid. THIS IS WRONG AND I'M TIRED OF IT! You cannot base your opinions of an entire generation on your perception of a few. It isn't fair. Some of us are hard working and are trying to succeed in life, applying for university, working at a part time job, doing homework etc. It is not fair for us to be looked down upon in society because of our age. There are some idiot teenagers out there, but not all of us!

Because parents are afraid to bust their -ss. That's all they need, but they tell their parents they'll call the police for child abuse. I'd say here, I'll call them for you- right after I bust your tale!
