Probably. I can't swear to it, but I bet you can count more types of birds in your back yard than you can mammals.

Perching birds: around 5,400 species

Mammals: around 5,500 species
Non-placental mammals: about 300
Placental mammals: about 5,200

Close, but it looks like the birds have it.
