http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/tutorials/smokingthefacts/htm/_no_50_no_0.htm

This URL above will lead you to a slide show that you can maybe show your parents if they are willing to watch. It tells about all of the dangers of smoking and how it can danger people around them.

This URL is a page of links that can help your parents stop smoking if they can't do it on their own. Some psychiatrist treatment can be very expensive, but most of the tools on this site are free.Maybe you could help your parents through quitting with nicotine patches/ gum, regular gum, etc.

Maybe you could ask your docter to tell your parents how bad it is for them and he could help them or get them help to quit.

Let your parents know how you feel because they care about you, and they would want to know that you care about them.

to tell your parents to stop depends on the manner you have with them are they friendly? etc you can just tel them why smoking is bad. If they are not that friendly you can ask them out to do some researh about smoking or put posters all around to show how smoking can be bad.

Make a big deal about how bad it bothers you, tell them they stink!!! tell them the smoke bothers you and makes you sick. Tell them that you want them around for a long time to see their grand kids grow up, make them feel guilty and then try and help them quit, be very supportive.

from my experience, NOTHING you or anyone else can say will stop them. Smoking is an addiction. However, that doesn't mean you can't express your disgust at their dirty filthy self destroying habit that's wreaking havoc on your health at every single opportunity.

First :i would tell them what effect smoking will have on them.. example: risk of heart disease, stroke, lung cancer, etc.

Second: tell them what effect their smoking has on you... example: it sets a bad example for you, you dont like it, etc.
and ask them to really concider what you have to say.
dont forget to include that you can/will try to help them stop.

asked them if they could smoke outside the house so it won't mess up your lungs and maybe if you live somewhere cold they will hate being outside so much they will consider quitting. Or you could fake having asthma.
