You're not going to get one.
All you'll get will be the usual Demoncratic spin-doctoring about why they're trying this useless stunt. It's an election year, and it's SO much easier to bash the outgoing "lame duck" president who can't run against them than it is to actually THINK and COME UP WITH SOME SOLUTIONS to the problems.
Everything - and I mean EVERYTHING - that this Demoncratic congress has done to date has been for one reason only, and you said it in your question: a political agenda, pure and simple.
THIS is why I'm voting Republican this year.

I think democrats recognize that the problem in Iraq is political and cannot be solved militarily. By withholding funding that would put the troops in danger that are all ready there, what they are trying to avoid is for Bush to escalate the war into Iran.

Because cutting off ALL funds hurts our troops--why in the world would you want that?
However, demanding that we give anyone else we send armor, and that we allow those who've already served several tours of duty their promised time off in between tours? That's GOOD for the troops.
And here I thought the Republicans supported the troops.

That's a strawman.
The Democrats are providing enough funding to maintain the effort rather than escalate it. The Republicans want to ratchet things up and they're not being allowed to.

If Bush wants to send them, all he has to do is make sure they are rested, trained and equipped.
What's so wrong with that?
We own these men and women that much.
My cousin is on his 3rd tour. He's tired and he's getting frustrated. He wants to see stability in Iraq but he wants to keep his marriage and stop missing out on his kids life too. He volunteered to serve his country, but he wasn't counting on stop/loss tactics, repeated extended tours, and shorter breaks to spend time with his young family.

If they stop fuding totally, the troops already there will have no way of staying and will have to run for it.
That would wind up being political suicide for anyone that voted in favor of total funding cessation.

When you understand that shamefully pulling out of Vietnam was the greatest day in all democrat's lives, will you know what their agenda is for today.
The 'non binding' resolution was just a test to see how many republican cowards they can scare into voting with them. When they feel they have the votes, they WILL cut funding.

I have a very simple explanation: IT'S ALL POLITICAL! The only thing they care about is making President Bush look bad. Nothing else matters.

Honey, I've been asking that same question, and the consensus is the same every time: LIBERALS JUST DON'T BELIEVE IN EVIL!!!! They believe that we are to love every one unconditionally, and anyone who disagrees with them is considered a blood thirsty bastard! They refuse to head the words of Napoleon: "the price of VICTORY is BLOOD."
They're arguments have NO logic to them whatsoever, but that won't stop them from crying out for NEGOTIATIONS with evil!
I don't think they know WHO Nevile Chamberlain is (or Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson, FDR, and Harry Truman for that matter!)
Guess what libs, WAR DESTROYS EVIL, not NEGOTIATIONS! War has ALWAYS worked, and negotiations have NEVER worked!
