Well just using lube offers no protection from pregnancy or sexually transmitted dieases and infections. But if you use a condom then it will offer alot of protection from all three of those things. You can also use lube with a condom, but make sure that it is a WATER BASED LUBE not any OIL BASED LUBE. Using a oil based lube may disolve the condom and increase the chance of breakage. My advice use a condom. It will help you in the long run. Hope I helped!

A condom is actually a rubber or latex prophylactic barrier that is placed onto the penis prior to sexual intercourse. It usually contains a spermacide to help "kill" the sperm inside of the condom, to further reduce the chances of insemination. It also protects against sexually transmitted diseases. A lube, or lubricant is a type of gel that is used for lubrication ONLY. A lube is used to reduce friction between skin or mucous membranes, and helps to ease (usually) insertion of the penis into the vagina, or anus. IT IS NOT A METHOD OF BIRTH CONTROL, NOR DOES IT PREVENT SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES! Be careful...sometimes, if a lubricant is used with a condom, it is possible to reduce the effectiveness of the condom; some jellies can actually breakdown a condom.

Lube is short for lubricant - it makes everything all slippery, it's not the same as a condom. It's a good idea to use water-based lubricant when you use a condom, it makes it less like condom less likely to rip.

No, they are not the same. A condom is used to prevent pregnancy and "lube" is a type of lubrication used to relieve dryness and friction.
You can use both either separately or together.
