Local story? How is it any different than the mall shooting in Utah? Give us a break.

Of course not that would make Muslims look like psychotic madmen. Can't have any of that now can we. That would maybe support our war effort..oh no I can't it is too horrible to contemplate.

Well, some things make the national news, and some things don't. One of the problems for you guys who watch TV for the news is that a half-hour broadcast, minus ads, contains about a half of a newspaper page worth of material. There are only so many news items that'll fit in any medium, and someone has to decide what's worth putting in, and it ain't easy.
The story you quote _did_ get to the Associated Press, so they clearly thought it worthy of note, and it obviously made the state newswires. Ergo, it was a Tennessee story. But the cab driver was not, as far as anyone could tell, an al Qaeda operative, nor did it seem likely that this would turn into something bigger. On a national news scale, it rates as somewhere between a bar fight and a very minor political disturbance on a college campus.

well the cab driver didnt kill anyone he ran over one who he injured and had stolen plates on his cab it looks like.
The mall shooter was an 18 year old kid and while reportedly Muslim he was serbian so didn't have a name that media people would be afraid to print as much maybe. and of course the mall shooter killed several people as opposed to injuring one.
