You can never go wrong with a Les Paul.

They are both great.
I have a Les Paul Supreme and a '61 reissue of the SG
(cost around $3,500 altogether), but worth it.
It also depends what you're going to play.
SG is more for metal
Les Paul classic rock-ish
but doesn't make too much of a difference.
At least they're both Gibsons, which make them both a great guitar no matter what.
No wrong choice you can make here.

The Les Paul, on an identical time because it quite is a extra high priced guitar, to me has a extra useful sould, and it quite is made extra useful, so it quite is going to withstand extra brutal pounding. My brother has between the main inexpensive Les Pauls available, and he could not be happier. it has a pretty sound and an extremely comfortable sense. I even have performed my brother's guitar and that i like it.
