The Pirates will finally break the .500 mark this year and finish at 82-80, giving them their first winning season in 15 years. Since they are in a very even division, this will only be good enough for a tie for third place.
1st - St. Louis Cardinals
2nd - Chicago Cubs
3rd - Houston Astros and Pirates (tie)
5th - Milwaukee Brewers
6th - Cincinnati Reds
Best Buc Pitcher - Ian Snell (21-9)
Best Hitter - Jason Bay (.338)

The Pirates...ugh....I think they will finish 6th but have a chance for 5th, if they get lucky. It's just a poorly runed franchise, where they don't have enough fan support to even put a decent team out on the field. Most of the time I feel for the low market teams, but the collapse of the Pirates is Pittsburgh's fault.

Ok first 80-82 in the N.L. Central as last place, um that would be impossible.
75-87
4th(Cards, Cubs, Stros, Bucs, Reds, Brew-Crew)

under .500....last place...J. Bay (until Littlefield inexplicably decides that it is time to trade him for nothing) I think Ian Snell could have a decent year if he can be consistent.
Yes I am a Pirate fan but it is so hard to be optimistic with this ownership and Littlefield making personnel decisions(hes not qualified to be a high school athletic director)

look at the Cards record last year. get close to .500 and you have a shot. Bay and Snell. if they get anywhere near .500 down the stretch i can't see them not getting over it. they wen't 30-30 two years ago i think. you would have thought it was the World Series.

Jason Bay will be their shining light once again. I think Ian Snell will give Zack Duke a run for his money for most wins on the team.
They still finish last.
