What is the best board game out there not cranium or monopoly?

Settlers of Catan. Its a great game where you gather and trade resources on a random map. Your strategy has to be different each time and there is a lot of player interaction.

Porto Rico: Similar to Catan, the random elements are minimal, but strategy is king. Good games are REALLY cutthroat, with turns being planed out two or three turns out. And since every player does something on a turn, turns are long.

Betrayal on the House on the Hill: A random map haunted house game. Think grown-up Scooby-Doo. Your map, and your goal, are different every time, with over 50 scenarios that are chosen by how the game map turns out.

If you like Monopoly you should try acquire. Its a game about mergers & acquisitions. Its a real classic. No harder than monopoly but a lot less luck and way quicker (an hour and a half approx). Designed my the great game designer Sid Sackson in 1962 it has stood the test of time.

I would have to say Apples to Apples!!

its really fun, and can last for 10 min (if u want a short game), or up to 3-4 hours if you have alot of friends over, and you want it to last a long time.

Its hilarious, and always makes you laugh!! i think its like $30 at target...i reccomend it!!
