maybe you should get an mp3 player and listen to your own music.

if that's not allowed, then i guess you should just suck it up and learn to like it.

I had to do that once while working in a grocery store deli. But since I've learned to appreciate all types of music, I started REALLY LISTENING TO IT rather than consider it an annoyance. Surprise! I heard and appreciated it more because I listened to it with an open mind. Think about this. It must be popular with either the store's clients or the owners for some reason, and I doubt the music is the worst of its genre when used as a background, so it must be great for what it is! If it is for the benefit of the customers, perhaps it is more of a cultural hang-up for you than anything else.

Ha - I am in the same boat - but it's with very repetitive soul r&b. I don't even detest R&B but is' the same freaking songs over and over - it really does drive me nuts. I try hard to tune it out or to hum to myslef or when my coworker leaves I disconnect the speakers. I really hope he gets the hint one day soon. It can ruin your day for sure. Hang in there...

I put up with bluegrass all day. I feel your pain. Be careful, one day I got so agitated that I ripped open an envelope really hard and cut myself. All I can say is it might be time to start "livin' la vida loca."

I would enjoy the variety. Not everyone is as narrow minded as you.
