She is now 4 months old. It's truly a miracle. Although the article didn't say what medical problems she has or what she'll face in the future.

I saw it and although she may face no problems, most premature babies do suffer some health issues, whether it be sight limitations, respiratory issues, digestion problems. I found it interesting that the story said the baby was well enough to be care for by her parents at home. I wonder if this indicates that there is some ongoing care requirements (other than those of a any new baby.) Good luck to them.

Although she is a miracle baby, she will most likely have numerous medical/health problems. My son was born at 29 weeks and almost died, but he is now a completely healthy, normal 2 year-old. I also had a baby girl in Aug born at 21 weeks and she only lived for 20 minutes. There was no attempt to try to save her, and my husband and I would have refused treatment as it would not have been fair to her to live with all the problems she would have faced.

a baby born at 21 weeks will have many problems. The baby will stay in the hospital till it's due date or it weighs three pounds. the problems may not show until the baby is older.

I wonder if after all the pain and suffering she will have to endure if there will ever come a time when she doesn't think her life is that much of a miracle...I wonder if her parents will feel that way as well. There will be thousands, maybe millions of dollars that will have to be paid out on this "miracle's" behalf...A real miracle would have been if she had suffered and would NEVER suffer any ill effects due to being so premature. I'm not sure I would want to put my child through all of the suffering this one will have to go through...

No. I know a girl who had a baby born early like that. The poor baby is blind and has all kinds of problems. Pray for that newborn baby.
