The Quebecers are soooo lazy in general. They know how to party and drink beer very well but when it comes to work it is up to the immigrants to do most of it! Sorry for being so straight forward.
They would never make it on their own.
It would be a great mistake for them to separate from such a great country as Canada!
Take Hydro away from them and they would be poor like hell!

Why don't they go straight to h---. Good riddance. What does Canada need them for? Only the corrupt feds want their stinkin vote. Those french are violent deranged nasty characters who were originally deported from france. Let Canada separate from Quebec. Watch them come crawling back. Don't let Canada take 'em back.

This has to do specifically with the mass oil reserves located within Quebecs territory. If they where to succeed from the rest of Canada, that would open them up to drilling, making them one of the wealthiest and most powerful nations in the world. The reserves that have been located are said to be several times the amount of those in the middle east.

maybe big time problems as they would have to set up all new government agencies to sart off with. this would entail a very large expense. then they would have to build their own defence force for security. another astronomical expense. now they have to develop a new foreign affairs office to deal with the rest of the world on their own. also would have to develop foreign trade, well i could go on but i hope you see what i mean. i honestly don't think they could survive long. the rest of canada has no interest in breaking up, that is just speculation.

Wow! This was just a question on my quiz at school! I don't think they should because even though the way their culture is, they are not strong enough to be just 1 independent country. It would be too much work.

This keeps cropping up in this country every few years - there have been referendums on the issue more than once. No one I know really cares very much any more as Canada is facing much more urgent issues these days.

I think if they did that then within a few months they'd beg for the rest of Canda to take them back. I don't think they would be able to function as a nation.

Not gonna happen, it didn't last time and it has less support this time..they will talk about it, sure, that is what the PQ does, but they will not seperate..they cannot afford t.

i am from canada and i say yes. if they want to we should let them but we should cut them off from canadian funds. maybe then they will see how hard it can be. give them tough love. my grandfather is from montreal and he says the same thing!
