They have earned their #1 spot, but ESPN is only talking about Ohio State and NC. i think its because Wisconsin isn't a very popular school out of the State. Its like a popularity contest, not based on skill. What do you people think?

I must say...I'm so happy that the Badgers finally got their #1 on the AP Poll...they've deserved it for a while...and especially now that Florida lost because they already beat Ohio State...so unless they beat them in a week....I think it's safe to say the Badgers deserve to be where they are...and shame on ESPN for not recognizing them.
I agree with the popularity thing...The Badgers won 17 games in a row or something and we were still just #2 by the end of it...and beat Ohio State in the process yet we remain below them even after the Badgers recovered from their loss to Indiana...Oh well...Hopefully the Badgers can finish this all out and take it home...Woo go Badgers!

It's the same story year after year. . . both in basketball and football. Wisconsin gets no recognition because they run a clean ship ( at least cleaner than most) and they win as a TEAM. . . not some hot shot arrogant gheto acting losers. Take football for example. . . the big three in the big ten is considered to be Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State. Hasn't wisconsin won THREE rose bowls in the last 15 years? How many has Michigan, Ohio State or Penn State won? Didn't WIsconsin beat so called faster and better SEC school Arkansas this year and Auburn last year? Yet this year ohio state and michigan both got piss pounded in their bowls. Now to basketball. Wisconsin has beat now #1 and at the time # 5 ohio state. At the time # 2 Pitt and at the time #12 marquette. Ohio state has beaten ONLY a jeckyl and hyde tennesse team and needed a miracle to do it! That is the ONLY ranked team Ohio State has beaten. Wisconsin's resume is MUCH better than ohio states!!!! I hope to god Wisconsin beats michigan state tomorrow and then ohio state on sunday so all the naysayers can bite the big sausage like brittany spears!!!

ESPN is not talking about Wisconsin because they are not the most popular or talked about team in the nation. They are deserving of more recognition, but when Duke falls out of the Top 25 it is a breaking story. They are just trying to sell to their audience.

Because they've played a weak schedule. There's no evidence yet that the Badgers can compete night in and night out with the quality of teams you'll need to beat to win a national title.

Following the football season - the Badgers BEAT Arkansas and went DOWN in the rankings - while Arkansas went UP in the rankings.

The same reason they didn't talk about them during football....They dont play in the SEC(football) or the ACC(basketball), and they're not Ohio State....Badgers always get brushed aside, and the Big Ten is underappreciated!

thats pretty sad duke who dropped out of the top 25 last wk got more publicity than badgers. they dont like teams that play defense and do the little things to win i guess

They're talking about UNC purely because of the front of their jersey, Ohio State is proably because people are "fans" of them because of their football team or because Oden has been talked about forever

They talk about them but not as much as they talk about Ohio State. They're somewhat underrated because as good as they are I don't think anyone expect them to win the NCAA championship.
