No you can't do that it's Traveling
you can't pass the ball to yourself
the ball has to alteast hit the backboard for you to touch it again or the rim
you can call it whatever you want the outcome will be loss of possession everytime

you can't pass to your self, which is exactly what you'd be doing. And no you can't say its a shot, because you can't turn to a ref while its in the air and say "i just shot it." And if you did happen to throw it that high in the air, another player would for sure be jumping over you to try and steal it, so you couldn't do it more than once guarented.

if you just threw it in the air, it would be considered a pass and you can't pass the ball to yourself, that's traveling

not sure i'm sure the refs would call a travleing though. CAuse i distinctlyremember nate robinson doing that and he got a traveling violation.
