She started out beautiful. She became really ugly. She used her ability to turn others to stone to I guess get revenge on men for what happened with Poseidon in Athena's temple (he ditched her). I'm guessing her anger made her evil.

Lets see Medusa is from the Greek tales. If I remember rightly there was a beauty contest and the Queen of the Greek God lost and turned the once beautiful Medusa into an Hag with the power to turn men into stone as revenge for losing.

medusa was supposedly evil, because when men were tempted by her beauty and smitten beyond all other distraction, she would turn into an ugly hag with tons of snakes coming out of her head (for hair), and they would turn to stone, if they dare glance at the beauty.............I believe this myth is the story of the temptress (beautiful sexy woman)...wounding poor little mens psyches....by seducing them.......and then in the end......she really puts the ole schrews to them.... she is ugly..so they can not stand to look at her..it hurts!."literally" and they turn to stone...........I think it's all about a mans wish for woman to be "perfect." (without really caring, what's inside)...and in the end... they are the ones that fall prey to the unknown lovely lady, who turns out to be not so lovely inside.....now, does she?

I think having the hairs on her head turned into living snakes and the ability to have people that looked at her turn into stone would make anyone evil.

Well, she enjoyed turning people into stone, for starters. Hardly a charitable act.

Her parents neglected her, parking her in front of the television instead of including her in their nightly beer-swilling parties.
