Because that's all you are allowed to learn in high school! Why can't Black history be a major, instead of a minor. The only way some of us will ever learn about Black history, is throughout Black history month. It's a damn shame that it's is even a topic. Anyone can see that this country was built on the backs of African slaves brought here by lazy white people.
How can a country teach about its history, by leaving out things they just choose not to include? How can Blacks be left out of the history books, when it was our sweat that was dropped in the cotton fields, just to name a few places.
There shouldn't be a Black history month, Irish history month Italian history month, or whatever else can be made up. American history should be taught just as it happened, no matter how crude and evil. It is to show a countries past.

As the saying goes, "a present without knowledge of the past, makes for a doomed future."

i think of its simply by fact right away the default race is white. each and every thing is pointed white-its the regularly occurring norm. it does seem a sprint unfair and can be seen as racist having hispanic historic previous month and black historic previous month, yet we live in a rustic the place being a minority is a handicap and an automated mark against you in life-even however we are able to all deny it, that's in some way/shape/form. i dont think of that having one month out of the 12 months the place we are able to concentration on the achievements of the underdogs relatively hurts. the individuals relatively working this u . s . are white. the least they might do is supply minorities some acknowledgement at times. i think of that, basically like mothers day and valentines day, those minority months are crocks of ****-there might desire to be understanding 12 months around, yet human beings are too self-in contact to maintain consistent mindfulness of others. so we destroy it down into small time frames like secretarys day and aids understanding month. meh. we suck as human beings.

Cuz every month, unless otherwise designated, is white history month. White people wrote and forged history, ie white history month. We need to include other stories that have been wrongly forced out of the spotlight.

Because it is racist whenever whites try to do anything, besides it would take much more than a month to extol the virtues and progressions whites have made in every field from freeing blacks, medicine, agriculture, maritime travel, aeronautical travel, computers, engineering etc..we should have a white appreciation month if you ask me and let everyone else bask in the accomplishments of the white race.

Ohh my gosh, you racist! Blacks and whites cant be equal, you might offend someone! Whites have only been rulers of world powers since the 1500's, before that it was the Romans and the Greeks, and the Chinese, and the Egyptians, and the Aztecs, and the Mayans, and the Incas.

Entirely too complicated to decide whose white history to look at.

Because every month is White History month.
The dominant paradigm does not need to be any more dominant than it already is.

This is what I find so funny about 'christians' who wail that America is so 'ungodly.' If only they knew just how much influence 'christianity' has in this country, and just how deeply the perverse puritan roots run in our psyches.

what a question....because they wrote history sweety, they conquered and enslaved every other civilization in the world.,. they own most of the wealth and natural resources of the world..they consume the best food in the world...and they have more oportunities than any other group in the world.. until the rest of minorites dont reproduce more and get more education we will not be in the level of competition..that thing of black history month is to give you some pride..do you think white people or anyone who is not black cares about black history month? everyone cares about themselves..I care about me, my money my family.. dont mess with them..and thats it//there is no slavery now..more oportunities.. so study work, and take those oportunities.. dont lose your time..

because in history, that's what we usually learn about. but in this month, for some reason, people think it's important to learn about black history, even though we should learn it all the time like we learn about other history.
