Yes, there is no reason she could not. She should make sure to change it often to avoid TSS though, I belive every 3-4 hours is sufficient.

First of all, WHY does she want to use a tampon if she doesn't have to?!? Using a tampon when you don't have your period is not a good idea. I don't know if it technically could harm the body, but it probably will make her sore and uncomfortable, and it will be difficult for her to then take it out (no moisture to help is slid out; gross but true). She needs to wait until she gets her period. Have her talk about this with a trusted adult, such as her mom, your mom, a family member or an adult friend. Sounds like she needs to educate herself a bit on periods in general.

So, is she just trying to avoid having an accident (having her period start) in public? I'd wear a panty liner rather than a tampon for that. If you're not on your period, it's kind of painful to yank out a tampon anyway. Then there's the whole toxic shock risk. I wouldn't do it.

She should not use a tampon until she gets her period. You can help her out by just saying NO.

No, she shouldn't. If shes not on her period, there's no reason to use one. If she is scared of starting out of nowhere, tell her to use a pantie liner, then she can quickly go apply a tampon.

If she doesn't have her period, then she shouldn't use a tampon. It can lead to Toxic Shock Syndrome. Plus, there is no need for her to use one any way.

There's no reason to use a tampon if you're not bleeding. Besides, using tampons a lot has been linked to toxic shock syndrome.

Learning how to insert a tampon is tough work. Give her one as well as the instructions. Make sure its a mini. Practise makes perfect. By the time she needs to use one she will have it worked out.
