Believe it or not...their are a lot of women/young ladies that can not wear heels. The minute they put them on they feel they are falling. Their are others that seem to be born in them and can even run with them on. Then their are the rest of us that battle the technique. For starters, you want a comfortable heel, a two or three is good for a start. Make sure it slides on and off your foot gracefully (a sure fit) and remember when wearing a high-heel that you are a lady and you can no longer take long strides as if you were wearing your tennis shoes. Take half the step you would normally take. Don't be in a hurry. Unlike your tennis shoes where you always plant your heel first, in heels you roll your foot. As soon as you feel your heel touch the floor, the ball of your foot should follow. (Until you get used to walking in the heels I would not sugest the models runway walk. That is a very good way to land flat on your face.) Keep your back straight, tummy in, head up so that your feet are not carrying all the weight....let your back help support the body. Their are some really cute heels out there, but until you get the hang of it and really feel comfortable in heels to the point that you can't tell them from your tennis shoes, you should really start with a nice pair of pumps. They support the whole foot, including your ankles. Then you can splurge on a sandle type, or a swag later. But for now....stay with a nice pair of pumps. A good shoe is just like a good outfit. If it fits right, you feel good. As for later? Always take good care of your feet with a gentle soaking, and foot lotion. Women spend a lot of money on their hair and face and often forget about their feet. Take care of your feet and they will take care of you.

there are a couple of things that you can do to make your feet love you.
#1: make sure you heels fit. shoes that are too big will give you blisters and shoes that are too small will be painful
#2: you can minimize the heel height and size of the heel. thicker heels will give you more support and make it easier to walk.
#3: practice around the house. wear your shoes around on the weekend so you will get used to them. remember to stand straight and not slouch forward. you can even practice pacing in front of you mirror to make sure you look normal.
#4: if the pain still persists, (after all, no pain no gain, eh) prompty take off the monsters when returning home. run the tub and soak your feet in warm water with a little bit of bath salt or essensial oil. towel dry and massage feet. put some lotion on and slip into a pair or wool socks or silk slippers.
good luck!
ps. there's alot of info on walking in heels on fashion magazine websites like vogue.com

Practice.
Keep straight when you walk, try to place one foot litterally in front of the other (this is what models do).
Start with smaller heels and gradually get taller ones, as you feel more confident.
Also get comfy shoes. Avoid ones that pinch.
Use body butter on your feet in the evening, this will soothe them.

Practice and
One foot in front of the other. Walk like you're walking on a straight line.
Practice in the heels, but wearing clothes you like. Sweats or jeans or PJ's.

well if it helps, it took me just a day.
1. be confident, think that your one of the models on runaway. try to be naturall just as if your walking on shoes, but don't try to impress somebody bcuz that always fails.
2.just after you get home, just wear some real fuzzy slippers, and walk on it. this totaly works. trust me. oh, rub some lotion too.
hope i helped
