what should i do about this? is there something i get for the problem

This sounds like the beginnings of an eye infection.

Change about 1/2 of the water in the tank and remove the carbon from the filter.

Treat for 5-7 days with Furanace or Marycn as directed on the box, doing a water change before adding each new dose of medication.

Add new carbon to the filter and you should be done with the treatment. This will damage your cycle in the tank and you will see an increase in ammonia and nitrites during and after the treatment. You may need to do additional water changes to deal with that problem even after the treatment is completed.

I've had ick attack the eyes of my fish before. If there are any other signs of white spot on the fins or mouth you might want to treat for ick as well.
