Both fight & protect on land, in air & on sea. The Navy is the Nautical aspect, the Marines are amphibious. Both carry honor & pride, and both think they are the better branch.

It takes 8 weeks to become a Squid, 14 weeks to become a Devil Dog!

Very little but the Marines are a department of the Navy, so in essense, there really isn't a difference. However, Navy is typically associated with ships and sailors, whereas Marines are associated with Ocean/land not necessarily ships.

Basically, the Navy gets the Marines where they need to go.

Huge. The Marines are the bad azzes who do all the fighting and the Navy gives them a lift.
