i have dated 2 guys who were uncircumsized, and both smelled awful...It actually smelled like some terrible B.O. is that normal??? they looked clean and i didnt notice any smegma build-up....So do uncircumsized penis' have an odor to them, or is that smegma that creates that odor???

I have to agree with Trebla on this one. The only way an uncircumcised penis can get to the point of having a strong, unpleasant odor is that the man himself is not too Hygiene conscious. I can understand that some men have a stronger PH factor when it comes to sweating......we're all different; But if a man is aware that he tends to eminate certain strong and unpleasant odors more often than others, then he should practice a more frequent hygiene regimen. mentioned, perhaps these guys you had experience with did not do the proper thing as wash up well before getting involved with you. Tell me this.....would you let a guy go down on you if you had not taken a good shower? No....right? Well.....the same should go for the guys.....they should have enough self-respect not just for themselves, but for you.
Some uncircumcised men do not retract their foreskin to expose the glans (Head) when they urinate.....and this is a big factor in accumulating urine residue inside the foreskin. The right thing to do is to properly retract the foreskin before urinating and, if possible, wash up right after urinating. If washing is not possible because he's in a public bathroom, then he should consider carrying a small pack of Wet-Naps to clean up nicely. I'm sure they would notice a much improved difference as far as the terrible odors are concerned.
I was taught at a very early age to always take care of my hygiene, and it has served me well throughout my life. It doesn't mean that a man has to be obsessive about cleanliness, he just needs to be consistent. I can honestly tell you that I have never had an experience with a girl in which there was an awkward moment because of "Odors or strange smells". Please take this into consideration, and don't think all men who are uncircumcised have a problem with hygiene.....because it isn't true at all. Just ask my wife!
Best of Luck!

Smegma doesn't really smell much by itself, but in large amounts it can sort of like amplify the smell of the region (which, as you pointed out, tends to smell like strong B.O. which it probably is). A little bit of smegma doesn't usually make the penis smell a lot worse, but a lot of smegma might; and if a guy has a lot of smegma, it's time for a cleaning.

A clean uncircumcised penis should have no smell (except maybe the smell of like a scented soap) or a faint, kind of musty, smell. This smell isn't bad, but it's not exactly fragrant either. It's a very indifferent smell (though some people might take offense to it).

Maybe the guys you dated didn't wash the area before they allowed you to take a look. Perhaps they didn't pull back their foreskins while they pee, that could cause some smell. Honestly, the smell is very easy to keep under control if the guy tries.
