if you don't live in England or North America...how did you learn enough to use this forum and speak english?

I will have to admit that those here that have English as a second language put most NA and UK users to shame. They are very impressive to say the least. I have mentioned to Touzours how impressed I am by her complete command to the language - one of the 5 she speaks.

Australia - the english speaking country in which I was born. Though I spoke Italian as my sole language until I started school.

And some would argue that with the number of mistakes I make that I have yet to learn enough english to use this or other forums :-)

well i used to take english lessons anyway in france when i was 7-9 but still wasnt fluent, i den moved to england 3 years ago and well the first year was a disaster, i struggled a lot with this weird language and den got fluent over the yrs but i still hve a weird accent, it aint bad but i cant pronounce some words like "thick" i either say sick or tick.... :(

I learned from 4 years old,than I have a teacher at home of English and after that I start school and I have teachers at home.

Well i learn English from my 5th so that is 10 years!
I also learn Germany 7 years and that language sucks!
I understand Spanish but don't know to write it!

I learned in Florida, USA when I moved here at 19 y.o.

Edit: Mimi, you're funny, my husband still is not articulating his th sound after 26 years, it's too late now, that's what makes part of his accent. But you're still young and have ample time to correct it before you adopt your real accent.

I've learnd English in scholl and at home too.
I'm trying to improve my grammar.
For 2 years I will study English at a university (I hope so).

theres actually some pretty good schools like uninter and they teach it as a second language in mexico.
