Well I'm wondering if bras are really that important. I believe that they aren't that important at all, and that people should be topless to have everyone comfortable with what God gave us. God gave us our bodies so we can enjoy each other, not to be ashamed. Breasts are to feed babies, and if they are exposed they won't be a sex symbol! Men would them feel more safe about being around women with breasts. We then can accept eachother. Please tell me your thoughts.

I was one of th orignal bra burners back in the 60's and all I have to show for it is saggy boobs that hang to my waist. Did that put out your mind's eye?? Sorry but that's just the way it is. I'm sure mine would be in a lot better shape if they had been taken care of instead of thrown out there on their own to sink or swim and boy did they sink. You might think you don't want to feel the way you do about boobs but you are throwing out the baby with the bath water. I and the two husbands I've buried had a lot of delight from these poor old breasts and I sure wouldn't want to throw that away just because we wanted to break the glass ceiling and have equality in this world. There are some things that are so enjoyable in the differences between the sexes that are too precious to destroy. I sure hope you enjoy someone's as much as mine have been loved. If you think they are just to feed a baby, read the Song of Solomon in the Bible as the woman's breasts are described. God knew a good thing when he made them so don't knock the knockers, ok?

I get what you are getting at with your post, and I mostly agree. Except for one thing, bras are important. I used to think they weren't, but of course that was when I was still around an A/B cup. Now, after having a few kids and being a C to D cup(not sure what size exactly, need to go get measured for new bras, again), I believe bras are VERY important. The girls HURT if they aren't supported:P

Stan,
I think you're a guy. Would you want to be running a marathon naked with all your dangly things jumping up and down and flopping around? I think you might want to "secure" these things. There's no muscle in the breast tissue, and even just walking, they can jiggle and flop: I guarantee you, it will be a bigger specatcle "au naturelle" than if women have them lassooed in some kind of retainer.

You're young...and amusing...try jogging around the track or go horseback riding "naked" and see if you like the sensation of an accidental pinch, tweak, chafe, or tug. Not.

See if you'd be comfortable sitting that way in a bus, so all us women (of all age groups) can get used to gawking at you. Not.

Imagine eating at a restaruant with all these exposed body parts. Or walking in a mall. Not just you but all the myriad of sizes and shapes out there. OK, you just helped me appreciate those saggy baggy falling off pants kids wear these days...I guess they DO beat the alternative.

Well a bra is important to me. Although uncomfortable at times they will make it so my breast won't be sagging to my knees by the time I hit forty. Plus, I've breastfed so their sagging enough as it is. If I use a bra they look much better. The reason you would even think to go topless I'm guessing is that you don't see much of them naked.

Emo_Love, that was an ignorant response. If women went topless, men should also be able to go...topless. If women went walked around without pants, men should be able to walk around without pants. Are you somehow stating that breasts are equivalent to penises, or that they should be afforded the same measure of clothing in order to preserve decency? Why, then, do bikinis reveal so much of the breast, while trunks do not? Please, do explain.

Because I was under the assumption that the genitals, not the breasts, are the most important sex organs and analogous to one another.

Guess I'm just a moron.

I don't know why breasts are so taboo in the U.S. and after breastfeeding a baby I have an entirely different viewpoint on naked breasts. I have no problem with seeing breasts in ads or on tv - who cares? As far as wearing a bra, when you have large breasts, its much more comfortable to wear something to contain them.

Personally i beleive beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.

To my mind a womans body is gods way of telling man this is the best i can do for you now enjoy dude or take it or leave it.

The answer to your question is another question actually why cant guys go around naked ???

The day my question and yours dont seem offensive and look as a great step towards human behavioural development would be the day of gods own homecoming because he certainly has left us for now.

Well, I think you are right, very right. If we no longer "covered" breasts would no longer be seen as sex organs (they are not, of course) and breastfeeding in public would be a non-issue.
On the other hand, as a women who has been a C-cup since 10th grade, I would hate to have to jog without one (NOT fun)...so, you can see I'm quite torn about this.

Because they provide support for the breasts. For some women, not wearing a bra would be a tremendous strain on their back and can cause health problems.

HTH : )
