The advantage of the APA manual for writing research papers is that it is very user friendly and is widely accepted as a proper format. Invest in a manual. You will use it for years to come, and it is easier to follow than MLA or Lester or other manuals for writing papers. Good luck!!

You should use it if your instructor requires it. I like it and my students must use it for my papers. The reference page appears easier to read (to me) if the cites are single spaced within the cites in the reference page and double space between each item
