in japan and other cultures when they bow do they hav their heads up or down?

cuz at skool we were doing a comdey play and we had to do this dance and at the end we bow and this girl kept saying that when u bow u hav 2 keep ur head up, but i disaggree. and she got on my nerves cuz she kept on saying it over and over!! agh!! anoying so i was wondering do they bow w/ their heads facing the person on 2 the ground?

It depends on the situation. When you want to say, "Thank you," you can face each other. WHen you want to say, "Thank you so much I am forever indebted to you thank you thank you thank you etc.," it's down.

I don't know about other cultures, but the Japanese bow face down.
