Okay, I downloaded some icons for windows XP, and I need to know: How do I get them to replace the default icons for things like recycle bin empty/full, my computer, & my documents? Is it even possible?
I've been fighting with it for almost an hour, and I was hoping one of you guys would know.

Right click on your desktop and select properties. Click on the desktop tab. At the bottom click on customize desktop. Now you can select a desktop item and browse for new icons.

To change the "system" icon (like My Computer and Recycle Bin), right click on the desktop. Go to Properties. Go to the Desktop tab. Click on Customize Desktop. You will see a bar in the middle of that window that lets you change those icons.

Just right-click on the icon you wish to change and slide down to "Properties", then
"Change Icon", then
Browse to the folder that you've saved your new icons in and pick one.

This grow to be gained close to the unique launch of domicile windows XP.
