I say no, but ...

Over 11,000 yards and a lot of 1,000+ seasons while playing his prime on a horrible Cincy team. Dillon was a spectacular back who once held the record for highest rushing game by a rookie and the highest rushing game ever (he was the first to break Walter Payton's 275 yard record).
Now he's old and very slow, but in the mid 1990s he had bounce.

Still, only one season with more than 1,600 yards.

Normally I would say no, especially since he had such a crappy team before the Pats and history shows that the HoF doesnt look kindly on good players in crappy situations (ie Andre Tippett, etc...).

However, he just passed OJ simpson on the all-time list for 14th place. He also has Super Bowl something that OJ doesn't have. He also has 4 probowls and is one of the few backs to record three games of over 200 yards. He also leads the bengals in career yardage.

When all that adds up, I think he does eventually make the Hall of Fame, especially since he's surrounded by a team full of future HoF players.

The Hall of Fame votes go by 3 basic criteria: Longevity, stats/records, and championships. Dillion has cases working for him in all 3 of the areas but is not a standout in any one of them. There are many, many good backs in the game right now and once Dillion gets his call 5 or so years from now to see if he'll get into the Hall of Fame I just don't think anything he's done will be memorable enough. The voters disucss if the history of the NFL could be written without that player included and i jsut don't think what Dillon did was important enough to be included. Being a Bengal and being on a bad team for a long time will work against him and once he got to New England the team was Brady's. They also say its called the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of Very Good.

My personal opinion is that Terrell Davis is going to have to get in before Dillon. A 2000 yard season, 2 Super Bowl rings and a Super Bowl MVP is hard to overlook. Even if his short career is working against him.

Corey Dillon, Hall of Famer??

In my mind? No. Those stats are good...but stats for Rbs are getting better because modern medicine means they play longer carreers.

Was Corey Dillon ever one of the top 3 RBs while he played? I don't think he was. I don't know that he was ever top 5 for more then 1 consecutive season.

To me the hall is about greatness. It's about players that changed what the other team had to do...players that were special.

For me...Dillon is just another good RB.

I think Bettis and Curtis Martin are both marginal HOF's...they should get in, but not first ballot, and both of them were a LOT better then Dillon in my opinion.

I don't see Dillon as any better then Ernest Byner....he just played longer.

I think people forget that when the patriots won the Superbowl in 2004 his first year on the patriots he ran for over 1,600 yards and would have been the rushing leader that season if it weren't for his game that he missed b/c of an injury so to the people who say he was never in the top 3 in any given season they are wrong, although i don't believe he willl be a hall of famer some day he is and will always be one of the better running backs in the history of the game and in his prime he was better at running the ball than tiki barber not catching the ball though he was never really good at that

Corey is great and I totally back him because he is the patriots starting running back and that is my team. His career isn't over yet and that means he has time to have explosive seasons. He is great and will be recognized for that one day meaning the hall of fame. if he was to retire today then i would say no but he will be in the hall of fame one day.

Laurence Maroney...on the other hand...is amazing and I see a little Tiki Barber in him. Dillon and Maroney are both great.

Consistency is the key and Corey Dillion as much as I like him was not reliable. Corey Dillion would either have a great game or a bad game. Its either he got 2 TD and 150yd or he got 30yd on 22 carries. You have to be a consistent and dependable player in my opinion to me Corey Dillion was not consistent enough to be in the hall of fame but you never know sometimes there could be lot of politics in HOF. Also he has a superbowl ring so that might help

Dillon is a pretty good back and had a couple good years to with that one monster game.

I think we all can agree that he doesn't have a shot at Canton.

No way. Tiki Barber is way better than him and even he stands a hard time getting into the Hall of Fame

If Barber gets in, Dillon should too. Their careers are similar in terms of rush yards; Barber had less amount of dominating years but the years that Barber dominated...he DOMINATED.
