It's just not the same anymore. Pity.

Yeah, there were cartoons worth getting up early for on Saturday, mornings, in the 60s. The stuff they have on these days?? I wouldn't wake up at 11:30 AM to see any of the crap on tv on Saturdays, these days!

Hear, hear--I agree!! Today's American cartoons are sooo lacking--but chock full of 'fresh' talent (perhaps a tad TOO fresh); their politically correct story angles simply aren't working and Japanese cartoons......it's like the animators and story writers all got zoned out on crack and displayed their insanity for kids to see.

Remember back in the 80s, when Tipper Gore, with tidy Washington society housewives and suppressed gay guys in tow, all rallied in front of CNN bashing the "classic" cartoons as being too.......violent??? And when hubby Al didn't get a Presidential bid, away went Tipper--who dropped her arguements like a hot potato.....and later HATCHED Pokemon and Naruto!!! In NO time, kids got hooked on these shows like crack---and are being exposed to characters casting spells, chanting in tounges, worshipping idols other than God....ooooooooo!!!

Dump today's garbage and bring back Road Runner, Tom & Jerry and Bugs Bunny/Looney Tunes!!

The Jetsons, The Flintstones and Top Cat were my favs in the 60's. I liked Saturday mornings in the 70's too when I'd watch the part human/part character shows like...HR Puffinstuff, The Bugaloo's, The Banana Splitz, Lidsville, and Sigmund and the Sea Monster...loved those shows. ;-)

No lounging like my parents did ;)

I grew up in the 70s, and my brother and I were planted in front of the TV every saturday morning. My parents knew better than to interupt our cartoon time; we would scream and bawl if we missed one second of Bugs Bunny!

nicely, Animaniacs particularly situations had their "Wheel of Morality - turn turn turn, let us know the lesson that we ought to consistently learn." does not advise that their morals ever made experience nonetheless. that they had an excellent time and that's a spiritual element- enjoying existence. i'm nevertheless waiting for Dungeons and Dragons to come back lower back. :-( waiting for _any_ stable sketch sequence to come back lower back. That feels like a robust theory. i will placed a replica of Animaniacs on the television... :-)

I was a kid in the 80's and it was the same for us. It's sooo sad kids don't get to experience that.
